Memories of Lockdown

From year upon year

I would volunteer

When anyone asked for assistance.

Then Lockdown  caused change.

It felt rather strange

To learn about keeping our distance.

In this current year

My kind Volunteer

Is ready to offer assistance.

She shows so much care;

I’m grateful she’s there.

I greet her with thankful acceptance.

We’ve pulled through this year –

Known sadness and cheer,

Been grateful for loving assistance.

The end is in sight.

God is our true Light.

He leads us with gentle persistence.

One year of Lockdown

In memory of those who have died and those who have served us
