CANTANTI Visit 20th October
Christ Church, Nailsea is hosting a fabulous concert by a group called ‘CANTANTI’ (Italian for singers) on Saturday 20th October at 7.00 pm. The group was formed nearly 20 years ago by 18 singers who are current or former members of the brilliant Bristol Bach Choir, to perform concerts of informal music in support of charitable and community projects.
They sing for no other reason than they enjoy it! The ladies and gentlemen of Cantanti (together with a small wind band) perform interesting and amusing music from early to modern classics. Come and enjoy the variety on offer, including pieces by Tallis and Victoria, through to American spirituals, Barbershop and film music by Gershwin and Cole Porter. Beatles music is always in the mix, and the wind band provides a splendid contrast in the programme.
The concert is in aid of Christ Church’s re-ordering and starts at 7.00pm. Don’t miss it!!
Tickets are £8.00 in advance available from Christ Church office Monday-Friday 9.45 a.m – 12 p.m (11.00 a.m on Wednesdays) – tel 01275 859210 or £10.00 on the night which includes refreshments during the interval.
